Log Cabin Literary Center
The Log Cabin Literary Center is situated between the Boise River and the Boise Public Library on Capitol Boulevard, Idaho's busiest street, on a site that was originally part of Julia Davis Park An outgrowth of Snake River Writers and the Literary Arts Committee of the Boise City Arts Commission, the group began in 1992 by inviting prominent writers to read and by working to increase the profile of Idaho writers. In 1994 members conceived turning the then vacant rustic cabin adjacent to the Boise Public Library into a literary center. Incorporated in 1996, the organization leases the log cabin from the City of Boise.
