Poetry on the Loose is a nonprofit corporation which has presented poetry performance events and other programs since 1993. The goals of Poetry on the Loose are to provide a platform for the presentation of exciting original work, to develop new audiences for poetry, and to encourage experimentation in the public performance of aesthetic texts. Poetry on the Loose insists on Whitman's radical democratic vision of America. It is a non-academic, grassroots, community-based organization. The door is open wide.
