The Drawing Center, Inc.
The Drawing Center is the only not-for-profit institution in the country to focus on the exhibition of drawings, both historical and contemporary. It was established in 1977 to provide opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists; to demonstrate the significance and diversity of drawings throughout history; and to stimulate public dialogue on the issues of art and culture. The Line Reading literary series presents public readings by internationally known and emerging writers whose work explores the interrelationship between literature and the visual arts. Line Readings for Children is a program for young readers that is offered free-of-charge each month.
